CARIBOO RIVER
Glacier-Fed Wilderness and Wild Trout

Draining from the ice-capped Cariboo Mountains, the Cariboo River flows through protected parkland, canyon sections, and remote wilderness rarely accessed by most anglers.
Its glacial-green waters support healthy populations of wild rainbow trout, large bull trout, and mountain whitefish, particularly during salmon migrations.

Fishing the Cariboo is varied and engaging, combining floating, wading, and technical water that rewards thoughtful presentations. Dry lines and mid-weight rods are ideal for much of the season, while nymphing can be highly effective in deeper runs and pocket water.
Salmon influence the river heavily in late season, increasing catch rates and bringing aggressive bull trout into prime holding water. With decades of experience on this river, guides access lesser-known stretches and lightly fished canyon sections that consistently produce strong fish.
