Day trips On the Fraser River following the routes used by the sternwheelers during the 1860s gold rush. Leaving the lodge from our riverside gazebo you will travel up river passing through Quesnel and continuing until you get to the Cottonwood c anyon. You will stop and explore mining tunnels, learn about a hotel that was used for passengers, that had to disembark while the Stern wheelers where pulled by steam powered winches through this fast moving canyon. Stop for a shore lunch at the mouth of the Cottonwood River. If you feel brave we will stop against the big rock and you can get your picture taken in the middle of the Fraser River.
Down river from the lodge you will pass beautiful pinnacle formations that are Hundreds of thousands in the making. They tower above us as we float by dwarfed in their presence. If you listen you can hear the sound of sand being rubbed against the hull of the jet boat as it moves down river. Deer often are surprised to see us when they go for a drink in the river. We will pass tailing piles left from the gold rush. Richbar south of Quesnel just above the lodge had more gold reclaimed from it than any other bar on the Fraser River. We will stop for lunch and try our hand at fishing at the mouth of Deep Creek. Every day on the river is different with new and exciting experiences.
